How to connect a Home Cinema to a blu-ray player ?

I have bought a Phillips 6 speaker system with a Dvd Player combined. I need to reconnect these speakers to a blu-ray player. Altogether there are 2 standing tallboy speakers, 1 large Sub Woofer, 2 small speakers, and a bar speaker. The Home Cinema system was bought as a whole and need to disconnect it from the DVD player it came with and plug it into a blu-ray play, how can i do this, help please.

While I may agree with the "Old SOB" below... you still can use a Blu-Ray player with that setup.

Here's how to do it:

1) Get some cables

You'll need an optical audio cable, and an HDMI (or Component (RGB)) video cable.

2) Run the Cables

Run the optical audio cable from the "Optical Out" port in the Blu-Ray player to the "Optical In" port in the back of the Philips receiver.

Run the HDMI (or RGB) cable from the back of the Blu-Ray to to TV.

3) Set Up the Components

Unit Settings: You'll need to turn off the speakers on the TV. Dig around in the onscreen menus to do that.

Then, you'll need to figure out the input settings for the TV and the Philips receiver. You'll need to figure out which inputs are for when the DVD is playing, and when the Blu-Ray is playing.

Start a Blu-Ray disc playing, then cycle through the TV's Input menu until the Blu-Ray is showing video on the screen. Then, cycle through the input settings on the Philips unit until you hear the Blu-Ray's sound coming through the speakers. When both are working at the same time, congratulations, you've succeeded!

Good luck!
